Guy Kemper commissioned me to photograph his “refractive expressionism” creation at bellarmine university dormitory in Louisville, KY. I used a combination of back lighting and front light to show off the glass. The light on the door was achieved in post production.

This is a combination of several exposures, taking advantage of the dramatic sky, and then waiting for it to get darker to expose for the interior lights.

This is a shot taken on a cloudy rainy day here in Kentucky. A very plain and ordinary shot, well composed but the lighting is drab.

This is the same shot with some lighting added to the shot. This is what was delivered to my client Longwood Antique Wood

This is an incredible room. I love the use of Longwood Antique Woods reclaimed hand hewn beams and oak flooring.

With real estate it’s location, location, location. Photographing North facing buildings it’s timing, timing timing. And June 21st is the time. Maybe a week or two before or after is acceptable. That is the time, in our location, when the sun is furthest north in it’s annual journey.
So if you have a north facing building that you need photographed, call me before the time is gone, till next year.

CREATING SUNSHINE

One of my Interior Design clients scheduled a room interior shoot with me. We set it up for an early morning, because the “light” was beautiful that time of day. Unfortunately the weather did not coperate and was dark and cloudy. No problem, I just added a strong light outside and created my own sunshine.

I just wanted to wet your appetite a little. This Old House magazine commisioned me to shoot a unique backsplash in a Louisville home. I will post photos after the magazine comes out in June 2009.
